Looks like one of the same species we have out here. Actually, I kinda like these a bit better the dragonflies, mostly because I can catch them easier. Just approach ever slowly, softly pinch the abdomen, observe for a little, then set free.

But you can't catch dragonflies worth a darn. I have caught a few before, but not like damselflies.

oh yeah or in a butterfly net..as for dragonflies ..not sure how you get them except by chance or if you get them first thing in the morning while they are still slow or when they have just hatched and are filling up before they can fly

cold blooded so in cold countries they take a while to get going..you can usually handle them and pose them as you please [link] shame i had a poor camera when I found this one

Damselflies are interesting little critters

Not as good as Dragonflies, but they'll do in a pinch

we have far more damsels than dragons around here... ..you would have thought that all the damsels would have attracted some more dragons but then maybe all the nights in shining Armour are way too keen
