many thanks.. I took a mobius object and a sphere object in the Wings3D program and applied the techniques outlined in Davids tutorial to create several objects that still related to the original then i took a collection of fractal objects from Incendia and turned them into exportable meshes inside Geometrica then imported all these objects into Cinema4D to arrange the scene and add my materials and lights... that's basically the process :)
