many thanks.. I took a mobius object and a sphere object in the Wings3D program and applied the techniques outlined in Davids tutorial to create several objects that still related to the original then i took a collection of fractal objects from Incendia and turned them into exportable meshes inside Geometrica then imported all these objects into Cinema4D to arrange the scene and add my materials and lights... that's basically the process
Turned out nice. Always pleased to see my tutorials being put through their paces. Better still of you had tackled a Bryce render, just to see how it would look compared to C4D, which clearly is a highly competent renderer. The dark glossy material effect is particularly pleasing - I think I might be tempted to try that in Bryce myself!
Cheers David .. thanks for all the tuts I plan to run it on bryce and see if I can get a comparable result..I find c4d competent (yet tricky) at rendering very realistic images but find bryce better at adding something 'pleasingly artistic' and less cold than other render engines.. so i ain't too confident i can replicate it but i'm sure i can knock out something 'interesting' !
many thanks, it was a render queue render so it did not display time taken, without the incendia images furthest to the rear it takes about 1.5hrs, with the incendia which has some glass parts i think it took under 7hrs!! or it was finished when I got up in the morning anyway
