The most versatile 3d fractal, together with Amazing Surf and the box,
is the TgladTetra, particularly its inside. However, navigating in the
inside (in Mandelbulb3d) is quite hard for the uninitiated.
Here's couple of tips that should get you started.
- Firstly, to penetrate the surface, set rendering mode to 'In and Outside' in formulas tab, and in navigator window, in the extendable tab in the bottom, check 'Fixed zoom and steps'
- The inside is often cluttered and noisy; to get a controlled view, set 'depth' in Lighting / Ambient tab close to the right edge, and set 'Far plane' in navigator window to a small value with F1 (1-10). This way, you get a sense of depth and space even in close quarters. Far plane value tends to reset for no reason, so keep an eye on that.
- In navigation window, set 'max iterations' low (20-40) and 'DEStop' high (3-6). This will create space by removing small details as well as makes navigation smoother.
